Quilting
In my free time, I enjoy creating patchwork quilts. Sometimes I use store-bought fabric, but I do try to integrate up-cycled fabric, particularly in my crazy quilts. My family has a rich history in quilt-making, but my great grandmother died before she could teach me. Gradually, I taught myself how to stitch in an effort to stretch my creativity back to my roots. Each quilt is hand-sewn: no sewing machine! Many of my quilts have stories behind the colors or designs I create, and as I continue to make them, I continue to learn "tricks of the trade." After graduation, I hope to complete all the quilts I'm still in the process of finishing.
